Canadian cancer society

Every year, the Canadian Cancer Society hosts a little something called Relay For Life. Which isn’t actually little. It’s an impressively huge fundraising event that brings together people affected by cancer. We’re talking survivors, families, friends, doctors, nurses, and, heck, even strangers all walking and running around a track for 24-hours to show a united front against cancer. It’s community solidarity at its finest.

THE Project

The Canadian Cancer Society hired us to capture the moments and emotions over the course of the event to create an event library of sorts, with imagery they can drawn upon to market the event for years to come. Our goal was to demonstrate through compelling photography that we are in this together, friends. And cancer clearly doesn’t stand a chance.

We captured joy. We captured victory. We capture love, exhaustion, camaraderie, tears, and triumph. We captured quiet moments of reflection, comfort, and the unexpected unity of strangers. There were so many tears and cheers, hugs and high fives.
